Had dinner with friends and family

What do you usually eat for breakfast?

 Eggs and English muffin

How many hours a night do you sleep?

6-8 I love my sleep.

What is your favorite hour of the day/night and why is it your favorite?

Well since I am not a morning person I would have to say evening time is my favorite time.

Where do you live now?

Bakersfield

Why did you move there?

I have lived here all my life.

Do you like living there? Explain.

Yes, my family and friends live here

What did you do in the years right after high school?

Well I did get married while I was still in high school. Yes I am still married after 22 years. It is great to be married to your best friend. Worked at a grocery store for 18 years and thought I would retire from the Union, boy was I wrong after the strike I knew that I needed a new career so I am back in school at Bakersfield College.

Tell us about your family? Kids? Spouses? Lovers? Partners? Divorces?

I’ve been married for 22 years this Nov. I have a beautiful daughter (Jamie) that is almost 19. She graduated in 2005 and recently moved to Colorado to live with her boyfriend. A wonderful son (Jason) that is 15.  He is a sophomore. Oh my god where does the time go. My husband (Jake) is a consultant in the oilfields for the last 6 years he worked in Long Beach where he was gone a week and home a week. He recently transferred back to Bakersfield and loves being home every night.

Do you have a job outside of your home?

No just going to school.

Do you like your job?

I am really enjoying only going to school three days a week. I love having week-ends off to spend with my family. You have to understand for that 18 years at the grocery store there was a lot of working nights and week-ends and holidays.

Is it the job you thought you would have when you were back in High School and you contemplated the future?

I never thought that I would get out of the grocery business after 18 years. I thought that I would retire there. I do believe that I need a change so when that strike at the store hit it was a huge wake up call for me.

If you could have any job in the world what would it be?

I would like to own my own business that is just a bit more successful than Microsoft.  LOL

What was your happiest day last year?

There were many happy days last year but I would have to say one of the happiest was when my daughter graduated from High School, also my son graduated from 8th grade and I quite my job and go to college full time.

What is your biggest regret from the last 20 years?

I wish I would have gone to college right after high school. But my life is really good.

Do you miss high school? What things do you miss about it?

No, well I do miss the fact that all I had to worry about was going to school. When your parents paid the bills and all I had to do was homework. That is a pretty easy life.

What is one of your favorite memories from high school?

Going to lunch with my friends. Billy Ross always took me and Kandy to lunch and who every else could fit in his car.  Oh yeah, My sister talked me into ditching school one day and she had a bright idea that she would write a note to excuse us for that day because she could write just like my mom. Well little did we know that my mom would go to the office the next day for some reason and the office lady told her that she got her note? We were so BUSTED.

What is one of your worst memories from high school?

I did not pass two of my classes my senior year and did not get to walk across stage with all my friends. I did go back a few years later and got my diploma.

Who were your best friends in high school?

Kandy Huckaby, Jamie Barnes, Lorraine Lizama.

Have you kept in touch with them?

I see Kandy or we are on the phone with each other everyday. We are more like sisters. Our family’s are very close. Kandy is always there for me when I need a friend. I have seen Jamie a few times at the store. I do talk to Lorraine (she lives in Georgia) once in a while because her ex-husband and my husband are cousins.

How is your life different than the life you thought you would have after high school?

It is not really different I always knew that I wanted to be a wife and mother and it has been great so far. Not too many people can say at the age of 38 that they have been happily married for 22 years.

Who was your favorite teacher?

Not really for sure.

What was the biggest life lesson you learned in high school?

A college education is so important. Life is to short, don’t take it for granted.

Who was your favorite pop music band in high school?

Van Halen - Aerosmith - Prince

Why do you want to attend a high school reunion?

I just want to see everyone and see how their lives have turned out. I want to see everyone having a good time.

Why do you NOT want to attend a high school reunion?

I want to go.

Are you nervous about attending your high school reunion? Explain.

Not really

Do you like answering these questions?

They were not bad. I have really enjoyed reading everyone answers.

Do you have any tattoos? What are they?

No

What is your favorite food?

Italian and Mexican

Are your parents still alive? How are they doing?

My mom and dad are both still alive and doing well. They still live in Bakersfield. My dad is retired and my mom works at San Joaquin Hospital full time. They are both active with their grandkids. They have 10 grandkids!!!  They recently became a great grandparent.

Are you happy with the way you look these days? Please explain.

I think just like everyone I could fix a few problems but I am pretty content. I go to the gym regularly and try to watch what I eat but the older you get the harder it is to take even just a few lbs off.

If you won the lottery what would you do with the money?

Travel, Invest and help my parents out.   Oh yeah Shop Shop and Shop!!!

Are you religious? Spiritual? Agnostic? Is there a God?

I do believe that there is a God. But I do not attend church regularly.

What do you watch on TV?

Big brother, Amazing race, Grey’s Anatomy

What are your all-time favorite movies?

Urban Cowboy, and an Officer and a Gentleman.

In what ways have you changed the most from high school?

I am more confident in myself. Not so afraid of what someone might think about me. Funny what age will do to a person? I don’t have big hair and no blue eye shadow!! .

In what ways are you the same from high school?

I am quiet until you get to know me. I am still very simple and very easy to get a long with. I am very sentimental when it comes to my family.

Tell us about three of your happiest experiences since leaving high school.

Well since I did get married while in high school I guess I cannot count that. So I will have to say that the birth of my daughter the birth of my son and Traveling to Hawaii was another.

What do you like most about yourself?

I am a very simple person and I am easy to get along with.

What would you most like to change?

I would love to be more organized. (My husband would love that too).

Do you talk on your cellphone while driving?

Yes of course. Why not talk on the phone? What a great time to catch up with friends and family and to make your appointments.

Tell us something that very few people know about you.

I am very afraid of heights. But on a recent trip to Hawaii my daughter talked me into PARASAILING. What was I thinking! It was really fun and I would do it again.

What would you like to happen at the reunion? What would leave you satisfied? What do you NOT want to happen at the reunion?

I would like to see everyone have a great time.

Did you enjoy answering these questions?

It wasn’t too bad.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that wasn't covered in the above questions.

I love to be outdoors camping (RVing), fishing, (but I will not take the fish off the Hook) riding quads and sitting on the beach. On the other hand I do love to travel and get spoiled in a nice Hotel with room service. I actually would like to live like a princess!!  Or maybe walk in Jessica Simpson shoes for the day….
